About the DC Chapter:
The Washington, DC Chapter is one of the oldest chapters in the
National
Hampton Alumni Association and the oldest in the Washington
Metropolitan area. We are comprised of members from the District
as well as Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, Howard County and Northern Virginia.
The D.C. Parent’s
Club was founded through the Washington, DC Chapter. The Parent’s
Club in conjunction with the DC Chapter annually co-hosts the Hampton
University Choir in Concert.
We have members
from class years 1935 to 2009!
The DC Chapter collectively gave Hampton University over $200,000
in alumni giving in 2004.
We are honored to be the local chapter of -- Past National Alumni Officers Anthony Cheatham, National President and Anne Baird-Bridges, National Immediate Past President. The DC
Chapter graciously received the President’s Award for Outstanding
Chapter for two consecutive years in 2001 and 2002. In the
last five years, we have awarded over $20,000 in scholarships to
area freshmen students attending Hampton University The DC
Chapter hosts an Emeritus Class Meeting semi-annually to recognize
and update Emeritus class members in the area. The D.C. Chapter meets at 7:00pm every 3rd Tuesday
of the month at the Jackson & Tull Building located at
2705 Bladensburg Road NE, Washington, DC (at the intersection of
Bladensburg and South Dakota Avenues). We meet September –

We welcome all
visitors and encourage their participation in the chapter as not
only an opportunity to support the institution that has done so
much to mold and shape our lives, but as a resource to help you
get settled in the DC Metropolitan area.
